CDL Testing (No Loaner Truck)

Southern Crescent Technical College offers public CDL testing each Friday at our Flint River—Thomaston campus. Exams are scheduled by appointment and are two hours long.

Forklift Operator Safety

Please Note: This class requires attendance for two days: Monday 8am - 3pm and Tuesday 8am - 12pm.
Our on-site forklift program teaches participants how to identify specific health and safety hazards in the workplace associated with operating a powered industrial stand-up and sit-down forklift. Those who meet the minimum standards for safety, forklift operation, and manuevering receive a SCTC certificate of completion and wallet card.
Topics covered include:
- Forklift safety and accident avoidance
- Lift truck capacity, load center, and center of gravity
- Powered industrial truck types and classifications
- Procedures for picking up, traveling, stacking, and dropping loads
Introduction to Microsoft Excel

This course serves as an introduction to Microsoft Excel--a powerful spreadsheet software used to organize and manage data.
The session includes fundamental tasks performed in Excel, including data entry, basic formula calculations, and formatting and style operations. In addition, you will also gain a greater understanding of the most popular Excel commands and functions.
Prerequisites: Basic Windows, keyboarding and mouse skills.
Driver's Education

Our driver’s education course is appropriate for all learners, regardless of age and meets the Joshua’s Law requirement. The course contains two parts—30 hours of lecture and six hours of behind the wheel driving using a Southern Crescent Tech vehicle. Students under 18 years of age must have a learner’s permit to enroll.
Instructor-led sessions are currently conducted n the classroom. All recommended safety guidelines are followed to ensure the safety of the instructor and student when the vehicle is driven.

Please Note:This Class consist of Two(2) Four(4) hour blocks on Two(2) consecutive Fridays. This class is not Two (2) weeks long.
Course Overview:
This comprehensive course encompasses the skills necessary to work in a professional automated environment and will aid the student in organization, basic tool usage, schematic interpretation, typical control panel layout (UL508a), component identification and functionality comprehension, and typical communications protocols found in automation settings.

This class will teach you the basicsof computers to include turning acomputer on and off, use a mouse,perform basic keyboarding, connectto the internet and access web pages,create and save files, create a personalemail account, and send and receiveemail messages.
HESI A2 Exam

The HESI (Health Education Systems, Inc.) Admission Assessment (A2) is a computerized exam designed to assess prospective students entering the health science fields. All students applying to an Allied Health competitive admission program must take the HESI A2 exam.
The exam includes seven different sections in the following subjects:
- Reading comprehension
- Vocabulary and General Knowledge
- Grammar
- Basic Math skills
- Biology
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Critical Thinking
